Technology has changed the way individuals and organizations communicate.

With more complex and far-reaching communication becoming the norm, along with wireless connectivity, a need for more advanced hardware has developed.

RF Connectors are a type of product that offers quality, versatility, and convenience. By using reliable devices, organizations in various industries are able to improve communications, which in turn helps these organizations grow effectively.

WHAT ARE RF CONNECTORS?

A radio frequency (RF) connector is an electrical BNC TNC Connector designed to work in with a wide variety of signals at various levels of megahertz. These components are created to work with coaxial cables and operate at radio frequencies. The connectors are specially made to offer the protection and shielding common with coaxial hardware.

RF connectors can provide many qualities and help boost communications greatly. Regardless of the distance or platform, proper hardware makes a big difference when it comes to smooth and seamless data transmission.

WHAT DO THESE RF CONNECTORS OFFER?

Scalability: Connectors can link together multiple systems, allowing organizations to grow their communicative capabilities with ease.

Reliability: Designed for use with the same types of cables found in many largescale communication systems, these F Connectors make for reliable communication channels.

Versatility: Since so many communication systems use similar hardware, these connectors can be a great fit in a variety of settings.

RF connectors are extremely popular, with RF Industries reporting $6.6 million in sales for the first quarter of 2017.

WHERE ARE RF CONNECTORS USED?

Many industries depend heavily on RF technologies, so having the proper N Connectors is a top priority. Aerospace and defense are areas where the speed and accuracy of data transmission is of the utmost importance. With little room for errors, it is easy to see why this field invests in such technology. Industries like medicine and engineering also use this hardware.

From its scalable nature to its impact on wireless networking, RF technology is an asset when it comes to communication. Having the right connector is vital for making sure data is transmitted quickly, clearly, and consistently.

RF Adapters are passive coaxial components that are used to transfer signals from one connector interface to another. They can be used to transition signals from an SMA Connector Interface to an N-Type connector interface of BNC to TNC etc. The Geometry and gender of each connector interface can vary and be customized to meet the required of a user.

In Series RF Adapters: These adapters have the same connector configuration on either side of the adapter. Some examples of these adapters would be SMA Male to Female, SMA Male to Male, N Type Male to Female and soo on. As long as the connector type is the same the adapters are know as in Series Adapters. The gender on each of the BNC TNC Adapters can be different and the geometry of the adapter can be selected to be straight or right angle based on where the adapter will be placed.

Between Series RF Adapters: These adapters have different connector configurations on either side of the adapter. Some examples of these adapters would be SMA Male to N Type Female, BNC Female to N Type Male etc. These RF Adapters have different connector configurations.

Another RF Adapter type is a Coax to Waveguide Adapter. This is another type of adapter that has a connector interface on one side and a waveguide interface on the other side. They are used to connect waveguide components to regular RF systems.

Everything RF has listed thousands of RF Coaxial Adapters from multiple manufacturers and developed a parametric search tool to enable engineers to find adapters by specification. Parameters like connector interface, gender, geometry, frequency etc. can be specified for the adapter and the tool shows matching products from over 50 of the leading manufacturers. The products can be compared, datasheets can be downloaded and users can request a quotation for F Adapters that meet their requirement. The quotation is directed to the manufacturer or distributors in your region who will then get back to the user with the details.

SDI Connector is a professional digital video standard developed for broadcast video. SDI carries uncompressed digital video and 16 channels of PCM audio. SDI is transmitted over 75 Ohm coax cable with BNC connectors, typically RG-6.

There are 4 common SDI standards. The original SDI supports 480i video, HD-SDI increased the supported resolution to 1080i/720p. 3G-SDI supports 1080p, and 6G-SDI supports up to 4K at 30Hz. The12G-SDI is still in draft status, but it will support 4K signals at 60Hz.

HD-SDI and above can be run up to 300’. After 300’ it can be reclocked and sent an additional 300’. If you need to carry high resolution uncompressed signal over long distances SDI is the way to go.

2.92mm Connectors are RF/Microwave coaxial connectors that operate mode-free up to 40 GHz. These connectors are compatible to mate with SMA and 3.5mm connectors. The 2.92mm connectors were originally introduced by Mario Maury in 1974 and then re-introduced by Wiltron in 1984 as the K connector. These connectors are standardized as per IEC 61169-35, and are ideal for high-frequency module and T&M applications.
